TV One Channel Television
TV One is an American basic cable channel aimed at African American adults. Owned by Urban One and headquartered in Silver Spring, Maryland, it was originally launched as a joint venture with Comcast. In 2015, Urban One acquired Comcast’s stake in the channel. TV One offers a variety of programming, including movies, original series, and reality shows, all targeting the African American community. It has seen a decrease in viewership, currently reaching about 43 million households as of November 2023, down from 60 million in 2016. Despite the decline, this channel remains a significant channel in the U.S. television landscape and is also an associate member of the Caribbean Cable & Telecommunications Association (CCTA).
