Big Ten Network

Big Ten Network Television Channel

The Big Ten Network (BTN) is an American sports television network based in Chicago, Illinois, dedicated to covering collegiate sports sanctioned by the Big Ten Conference. The channel features live and recorded event telecasts, news, analysis programs, and other content centered on the conference’s member schools. It is a joint venture between Fox Sports and the Big Ten, with Fox Corporation holding a 61% stake as the operating partner, while the Big Ten Conference owns the remaining 39%. BTN operates from the former Montgomery Ward & Co. Catalog House building at 600 West Chicago Avenue in Chicago.

The Big Ten Network  holds the distinction of being the second sports network in the United States dedicated to a single college sports conference, following the MountainWest Sports Network, which launched a year earlier. BTN’s success set a precedent, inspiring the creation of similar conference-focused channels such as the Pac-12 Network, SEC Network, and ACC Network, each offering a comparable lineup of live events, analysis, and programming tailored to their respective conferences.
