Launched in 1983, it was the first national channel dedicated to country music, featuring videos, concerts, and biographies. Its programming now includes lifestyle shows, reality series, and sitcoms. Based in New York City, with offices in Nashville, CMT reaches 56 million U.S. households as of December 2023.
