Universal Kids Channel Television
Universal Kids is a children’s television network in the United States, owned by NBCUniversal, a subsidiary of Comcast. The channel launched on September 26, 2005, as PBS Kids Sprout. It was aimed at preschoolers and established by PBS, Comcast, Sesame Workshop, and HIT Entertainment. After Comcast acquired NBCUniversal in 2011, the channel became fully owned by NBCUniversal. In 2013, it was rebranded as Sprout. With NBCUniversal’s support, the channel enhanced its original programming. In 2017, it rebranded again to Universal Kids to attract a broader audience. The new programming included content from DreamWorks Animation, as well as shows for older children and teenagers, including game shows and reality series spin-offs.
