Disney Television Channel
Disney Channel, launched on April 18, 1983, as a pay-TV network owned by Disney Branded Television, a division of the Walt Disney Company. Initially targeting families, the channel shifted focus in 1997 to entertain children and adolescents aged 6–14, offering original series, movies, and selected third-party content. As of November 2023, it reaches 70 million U.S. households, down from 100 million in 2011. Internationally, its reach has declined with the growth of Disney+ and streaming competition.
