GRIT Television Channel
GRIT is an American free-to-air television network owned by the E.W. Scripps Company, specifically its Scripps Networks subsidiary. The network primarily features classic Western TV series and films. It is available in several media markets through the digital subchannels of free-to-air television stations and the digital tiers of select cable providers.
Initially distributed via ad split agreements with affiliated TV stations, this channel transitioned to paying carriage fees by October 2015. The network also used direct response advertising to measure its viewership before switching to Nielsen’s C-3 rating system. It can be accessed through platforms such as Dish Network, DirecTV Stream, Sling TV, U-verse TV, and Frndly TV.
